The study of inelastic scattering reactions is important both in basic research as it can provide an insight on nuclear structure and aid the validation theoretical models, well field applications. most frequently used method to determine neutron induced cross section by recording emitted gamma rays from de-excitation target nucleus. In this direction, high energy resolution HPGe detectors instrumental. experimental setup be further improved shielding against scattered neutrons. purpose work investigate contribution such shieldings experiments at n_TOF facility CERN optimise set-up. study, GEANT4, a package for simulating transport radiation through matter, was effect various materials geometries CANBERRA’s EGPC 25S/N 540 p-type coaxial prototype HPGe.
